My selection of the best releases this week (Nov 2021 Wk 44)
In no particular order other than tempo.
Half of this week's selections are album tracks again including
Jason Ozzie Ash, Will Downing, Michael Dion, Nightmares On Wax, CaiNo
and Darelle Holden (which is a few months old, released in
July).
Those considered for for this week's SoulStrutter Selection of the
Week included Will Downing's new album "Sophisticated Soul", singles from Rachael Marks and
Mad Yella but it may surprise you to learn that I've
gone for an album which doesn't feature any tracks in this week's
Dirty Dozen by the mysterious Doc City "Welcome To Doc City". I say mysterious because the only other release I can find by
Clarence Taylor MD (aka Doc City) is from 2002, so these may well be
older tracks, but as it's a classic soul jazz album they stand up well
even if they are old.
