Kaisha [2023] - Nine Yards [Self Released] (Full EP)

Malaysian born artist Kaisha (pronounced ka-yee-sha) relocated to Brighton in 2015 to study music. She attributes her inspiration from the likes of Mac Ayres, The Internet, SiR, Moonchild & Joyce Wrice.

She first featured here as a guest artist on Misha's single "Good Together" in March '21. Her last three singles ("Crossroads" (Feb '23), "Hard To Please" (Nov '22) and "Ego", (Aug '22)) have been combined with two new songs ("Back to Me" and "Know") on a five track EP "Nine Yards" released on 30 Mar '23. 

It's her third EP following "If Not Now Then When?" (Nov '21) and "Something Else" (Jul '20).

Reuben James Feat. Braxton Cook, CARRTOONS & Gareth Lockrane [2023] - Means The World [Rufio Records]

Birmingham-born vocalist and piano virtuoso Reuben James made his name writing and touring with Sam Smith. He wrote songs for Smith's 4-million-selling album "The Thrill Of It All" and they have performed together around the world including at The Oscars and The Grammys.

He has worked and collaborated with the likes of Stormzy, Sam Smith, Disclosure, Marcus Mumford and Herbie Hancock which has led to James developing a unique sound and style of his own and he is now widely considered as one of the most exciting artists to have emerged from the UK in recent years. 

He's featured here multiple times over the last couple of years, not least with his killer tune "Closer" which featured Sophie Faith, Jay Prince a& CARRTOONS.

His latest single "Means The World" was released two weeks ago and features Braxton Cook, CARRTOONS & Gareth Lockrane. 

The song was written and produced by Ben Carr (CARRTOONS) and Reuben James, with vocals by Reuben James and Braxton Cook, piano by Reuben James, drums and bass by Ben Carr (CARRTOONS),  alto saxophone by Braxton Cook, Ffute by Gareth Lockrane.

King Sis [2023] - Sacred Timeline [Epidemic Sound]

King Sis states that she will be releasing new music every other Friday for the next six months. We're not sure when it started but she released a single on 17 Mar and two sets of double singles on 31 Mar and 14 Apr, so expect something new this Friday.

In the meantime here are the two she released on 14 Apr under the title "Sacred Timeline" i.e. "day 1" and, our preferred track, "right another wrong".

King Sis (Sis Mills) originates from the DMV (D.C.,Maryland,Virginia) but relocated to L.A. where she worked as a session singer. She release a debut album "Ascension" two years ago on 30 Apr 2021.

Jay Lamont [2023] - Just For You [ Sweet Success Records] (Full Album)

Multi-talented entertainer/comedian/impressionist now writer/recording artist Jammin Jay Lamont has recorded a new album "Just for You" for Sweet Success Records. 

He impersonates many soul singers adding humour to his act. A clip of one of his shows has been included below and there are any others on YouTube well worth checking out as it's hilarious especially his skit on Michael McDonald!

He is channelling his undeniable musical talent to his own projects.

A couple of tracks have already see the light of day as singles i.e. "Things Ain't Changed" (Aug '21)) and "I'm Gonna Luv Ya" (22 Feb). Half of the twelve tracks were released on an EP "Here I Am" in 2016.

Ebony primadonna [2023] - Inside Out [Ebony Jordan] (Full EP)

What appears to be a debut release by Ebony primadonna who, from the label credit we assume to be Ebony Jordan who is from Las Vegas, was released on Friday.

It's a five track EP titled "Inside Out" which I think needs a few listen to appreciate with the opening track "Trusting" being the standout on first listen but "Until Freedom" is growing on me, but may not be everyone's cup of tea and will have the rap repeller's running for the hills!
