Sir Spencer feat. Jason Peterson DeLaire [2023] - Love Is Taking Over (Relit) [US Records]

Released on Friday is the latest outing from Sir Spencer. It's an updated version of "Love Is Taking Over" suffixed "Relit", a track from his debut album "The First" (May '21) which features in-demand Minneapolis saxophonist/keyboardist Jason Peterson DeLaire. We'll include the original version for comparison.

Sir Spencer is Craig Sullivan who released his second album, "The Second" no less, in Oct '22. You will recall one of the tracks ("Maybe") featured Raquel Rodriguez which was released as a single with several mixes.

Leela James [2023] - Thought U Knew [BMG]

The new single from Leela James is "Thought U Knew" which follows "Right Back In It" from July. The music video for the song has already received almost 45k views in just over 24 hours.

With two singles in quite quick succession after being relatively quiet for almost two years suggests to us that their may be a new album looming.

Benjamin Race feat. Ellison Kendrick [2023] - Take You Home [Ashwood Records]

The name Benjamin Rice may be new to you, He is a UK based bassist/producer who released an album "Everything Is Energy" under the moniker HD in 2018.

He's performed live with members of Incognito, D’Influence, Jamiroquai, supported Alexander O'Neil, Shaun Escoffery and Acid Jazz pioneers Push as well as playing with world-renowned bassists Victor Wooten and John Patitucci.

In 2022 he was one of only 12 worldwide winners of Quincy Jones Production's '12 Notes' competition and in 2023 is been tutored by one of the best mixing engineers in the business, Bobby Owsinski.

He wrote his latest single "Take You Home" with Miami vocalist Ellison Kendrick (who's "Rated E" album was released at the start of Aug) and the UK's Ernie McKone. The song is supported by a music video shot in Miami.

You may recall that Kendrick was signed to Betty Wright's label Mr.s B and toured with her aa well as with Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce). He provided backing vocals on Joss Stone's albums from 2004 up until herb last album, "Never Forget My Love" in 2022.
