Regi Myrix feat. Lamar Kelsey [2023] - If You Don't Mind [Myrix Media Group]

Producer Regi Myrix collaborates with an up and coming new artist Lamar Kelsey for his first release of 2023 "If You Don't Mind" officially reeased today but was released via Bandcamp on 26 May '23. It's from a forthcoming EP "SouLaDeLiCa" which is due in the Autumn.

Regi describes the new song, written by Kelsey, as a smooth, retro soul / R&B banger complete with horn and string arrangements.

Kelsey has released just two previous singles "She Knows My Heart" (Apr 2020 followed by "I Can't Get Over You" the following month.

Regi, of course, produced five of the tracks on Hil St. Soul's recent chart topping album "Back In Love" (Nov '22) including the lead single "A Feeling So Beautiful" (Aug '22).

Lack Of Afro feat. Jack Tyson Charles [2023] - All Night [The Bastion Music Group]

Multi-instrumentalist, producer, DJ and composer Adam Gibbons from Exeter has been releasing music since 2006 using his alias Lack Of Afro. He is back with his second single of the year "All Night" which features BBC6 Music Soul & Funk Show host Craig Charles' offspring Jack Tyson Charles.

Charles last featured here with his last solo outing, his debut album "Love Is Pain" in Sep '22.

The bouncy, uptempo tune, utilises (unknown) sped up/lo-fi'd 60s/70s style samples as a backdrop which is the third single from an upcoming new album (his ninth) "Square One" due on 8th Sep '23.

Gabriels [2023] - Glory [Parlophone UK]

The third single this year from Gabriels, following "Offering" in Feb and a Paul Woolford remix of "Angels & Queens"  in Jan, is "Glory" released yesterday (1 Jun '23).

For any not yet familiar with the group, they formed in L.A. in 2016, releasing their debut single 'Loyalty' in 2018 which was used in a Prada advert. They are fronted by flamboyant and charismatic lead singer Jacob Lusk. The trio is completed by Ari Balouzian and Ryan Hope.

They certainly have a style of their own which is not easy to pigeon hole, but then why should we try to? They bring originality and Lusk has huge stage presence and star quality.

A forthcoming 45 reissue from Athens Of The North pairs two sides from UK reggae/lovers rock label Sir George owned by Sir George Brightly.

The A side is Wendy Walker "We've Got One" flipped with Legal Assault feat. Dan-Elle (aka Danielle Harvey) "Nice & Slow" both originally released around 1992/93 and produced by Anthony 'Pure Silk' Brightly the label owner's son who recorded as Pure Silk.

Lee Fields [2023] - You Can Count On Me [Daptone Records]

A few weeks ago we notified you of Lee Fields' first release since his recent album "Sentimental Fool" last Oct. It was "Waiting On The Sidelines" which is also scheduled for a 45 release. 

The flip side of the 45 "You Can't Count On Me" is a song only previously released on a limited edition five track 12" EP "Ordinary Lives" in 2022 which was only for sale at his shows or direct from Daptone. it has been released digitally today.

We've included the A side along with the video for it.
