Daizha (Daizhanique Richardson) is a new artist from Seattle, WA. She debuted in Nov 2021 with a single "Not Tryna Fall In Love" and followed it in Oct '22 with "Grave Mistake". Her third single "Silk Sheets" is out today (20 Jan '23).  All three songs are self-written, "Grave Mistake" with Teron Bell.

Gene Moore Feat. India.Arie [2023] - Beautiful [Motown Gospel EGS]

The new single from Motown Gospel artist Gene Moore featuring India.Arie, "Beautiful" will already be a candidate for the end of year selections. It's been a very slow start for good quality soul music so far this year but this stands head and shoulders above most that I've heard so far this year alongside Ledisi, Billy Valentine and Crutchfield Jones' EP.

Moore is a highly respected background singer for artists such as Kirk Franklin and India.Arie. His critically acclaimed 2017 Motown Gospel debut album "The Future" earned him a Stellar Award nomination for New Artist Of The Year. The follow up "Tunnel Vision" arrived in 2019.

Moore has featured here several times: "Coming Home" (Roger Williams podcast Mar '22) , he featured on Lexi's "I Choose You" and as one of the featured guests on P.J. Morton's "The Better Benediction" (on "Watch The Sun" LP), and with Kim Burrell on Red Hands' "Thanks" (Roger Williams podcast Nov '22).

A son of a pastor, Moore was born just outside Houston, TX, but didn't start singing until he was 15. He graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Radio and Television minoring in Advertising with the intention of pursuing a career in journalism. However, he landed a spot as a gospel announcer on KWWJ Gospel 1360 AM transitioning to Contemporary Christian Music at 89.3 KSBJ-FM and realised that music is what he really wanted to do.

He signed to Motown Gospel in 2013 but it took several years whilst Motown figured out what to do with him before his debut album "The Future" was released.

Tia Gordon [2023] - Sunday [Self Released]

Tia Gordon is a UK based singer/songwriter (with a Caribbean background) who started out in 2019 recording with Garage Band posting her music on Instagram and then migrated to Soundcloud.

She states that she has been influenced by artists such as Summer Walker, Billie Eilish, H.E.R, UMI.

Her latest single "Sunday" was released yesterday (19 Jan '23). It's her fifth single since her first in March '22.

Tanqueray Hayward [2023] - You Lied [Self Released]

The 'Queen of Philadelphia", Tanqueray Hayward is back with a new single almost exactly a year after her last release on 21 Jan 2022 which was The Realm Remix of her track "Complicated" taken from her 2021 debut album "Definition Of A Woman".

Tanqueray's cancelled gig at the Jazz Cafe was rescheduled for May 2022 at the sold out Pizza Express.

The new single "You Lied" is a mellow ballad, reminiscent of 80s Quiet Storm and something that Natalie Cole may have recorded. It gets deeper as she weaves through and has an unnamed saxophonist in background who gets his moment upfront around 3:30 with a solo.

It was posted a week ago on promo, from which it has been receiving plenty of radio airplay,  but is now available from all digital platforms as of 20 Jan 2023.

Adi Oasis [2023] - Multiply [Unity Records]

Adi Oasis, who has had recent success with her single "Get It Got It", has an new album, "Lotus Glow", due in March 2023. It is her second under her new moniker following  a self-titled one in Sep 2021.

The album will contain fourteen tracks including her last three singles "Adonis" featuring Kirby (16 Nov '22), "Get It Got It" (12 Oct '22) and "Red To Violet" featuring Jamila Woods (24 Aug '22).

We gave you a sneak preview of a couple of tracks on 11 Jan. One of those tracks "Multiply" has no been released as a her next single on 18 Jan '23.

The other track is "U Make Me Want It" which is included below.

Adi Oasis, previously known as Adeline (Adeline Michele Petricien), is a French-Caribbean immigrant from Paris living in New York. Prior to embarking on a solo career in 2018  she was with New York Nu-Disco group Escort from around 2011.
