Sara Stolz [2023] - Kool Aid Sun [Self Released]

A single, "Kool Aid Sun", from a new artist to us, Sara Stolz (Sara Stolzenberg-Myers) from L.A.. The song is produced by Amelia Rose who, we assume, is Amelia Rose Dyson from London who's featured here several times.

Prior to this single, Sara has released a six track EP in 2021 and two singles in 2019.

Whilst released on 10 Oct, it is obviously not a brand new song as she performed it live in March '22 on Tiny Desk (video below).

Danny Losito & SLAMTWISTED [2023] - Children Of The Ghetto [Irma Records]

Italian DJ / producer / singer Danny Losito and DJ / musician / producer SLAMTWISTED (Umby Bebbo (Umberto Behboudi) last featured here with their version of "Can't Hide Love" in Aug. Since then in Sep they released another cover ,Steely Dan's "Do It Again" and they are back with yet another cover.

This time out they interpret Chris & Eddie Amoo's "Children Of The Ghetto" first released on The Real Thing's "4 From 8" in 1977 before getting a single release as the flip to their 1979 disco hit "Can You Feel The Force".

Several others have recorded the song, perhaps most notably EWF's Phillip Bailey in 1984 and our favourite by UK saxophonist Courtney Pine feat. ex Supreme Susaye Green in 1986.

Tyla [2023] - Water [FAX Records] Music Video

A couple of weeks ago DJ Soulchild released his remix of "Water", a song by Johannesburg singer Tyla that went viral in July. We also posted a live video of her performance and last Friday (6 Oct) she released an official music video for it which has already received 6.6m views on YouTube.

Diddy feat. Teyana Taylor [2023] - Closer To God [Love Records] Music Video

The most soulful track, as far as we were concerned, from Diddy's album "The Love Album: Off The Grid" was "Closer To God" feat. Teyana Taylor. A new music video for it was published  on 13 Oct.

Teyana Taylor is from Harlem, NYC, and debuted in 2007 with a self-titled album which was promo only, never released. Her first commercial release came in 2021 with "The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor".

We posted a six track EP "Junie Jams" from her in Nov '21 which included  several tracks from her 2018 album "K.T.S.E.". On the same day she also released another EP "The Cool Mom". This track appears to be her first recording since.

Zenesoul [2023] - Only 2 [Self Released]

Toronto's Angie Akhinagba, under her musical alias Zenesoul, makes her fifth release of 2023 with a single "Only 2".  

Her last two releases were a two and a three track EP, so we thought that perhaps her sophomore album was on it's way, as that's seven new songs released so far this year.
