Shan Ako [2022] - God's Best [RIDDIMMATIK] (Full EP)

From 2011 to 2013 Shan Ako (Shanice Akosua Smith) from Croydon, South London,  toured with "Magic of Motown" and then returned to her studies, gaining a degree in Music Business after which she starred in lead role in Whitney – Queen of the Night. In 2018 she was mentored by Simon Cowell in The X Factor series 15 finishing in 7th place. 

She was chosen to play the role of Eponine in the All Star Staged Concert of Les Miserables in 2019 and won Best Performer in a Musical at The Stage Debut Awards for her role in the new production at the Sondheim Theatre in London’s West End in 2020.

To date, since debuting in 2019, she's released four singles and to launch her debut EP "God's Best" the title track was released as a single lasts Friday (25 Mar 2002) a week before the five track EP release today (1 Apr 2022).

The standout track is "The Wait".

Truth Hurts [2022] - Cheated [Thinc Entertainment]

Truth Hurts (aka Shari Watson) debuted in 2002 with an album "Truthfully Speaking" under the wing of Dr. Dre on his Aftermath label. Her debut single "Addictive" topped the charts in 14 countries in 2002 and gained 2 Grammy nominations. 

She's toured with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill and Outkast and appeared in the movie "Ali" as a singer as well as around another dozen movies, the TV sitcom "The Parkers" and also featured as one of The Raelettes in the musical revue "I Can’t Stop Loving You: Genius of Ray Charles".

Her sophomore album "Ready Now" was released on Raphael Saadiq's Pookie International label in 2004 followed by "Truth International" in 2006.

She has a new single "Cheated" released yesterday 31 Mar 2022.

JUST BECCA [2022] - It's You [Self Released]

A debut release from JUST BECCA, who I assume to be Rebecca Wigley from writers credits on "It's You", was released today.

Needless to say with it being a debut, I can find no information about her, but it's a pleasant contemporary soulful ballad.

edbl & Kazuki Isogai [2022] - Lemon Squeezy / Afrique [College Music Records]

It's that man edbl (London based Ed Black from Chester) again who seems to have been quite prolific in the last year or two with a new double-sided single with Kazuki Isogai, who is a guitarist from Tokyo. London based, Midlands bred, Taura Lamb, who released a single "Beats Kicks In" in Feb with edbl, is on on vocals on "Lemon Squeezy".

The other track "Afrique" is a very nice, jazzy instrumental which, in addition to Kazuki Isogai, features 19 year old saxophonist Obis Ubaka from Taunton (UK).
