Laneshia [2021] - The Journey [Fentress Music Group] (Full EP)

Laneshia (Fentress), from Dallas, TX,  released her debut EP "The Journey" today (15 Oct 2021). Prior to that she released two singles last year "Saturday" (Nov 2020) and "Long Road Home" (Jul 2020) which are both included in the seven tracks, three of which are either intros or interludes which means that there are only really two new full tracks.

The two standout tracks are both singles, "Saturday" being a stepper and "Long Road Home" a very classy ballad. Don't sleep on "Heartbreak' either as once the long drawn out intro, which last a full minute, ends it turns into a nice little stepper.

Kevin Ross [2021] - Sweet Release [Arts Society Music Group]

Kevin Ross released his latest single titled "Sweet Release" today (15 Oct 2021). It's his first since "Looking For Love" in July. It leans a bit more towards R&B than his last.

Presumably this will feature on his forthcoming album "Drive 2" due later this year.

Cliff [2021] - All Of Me [Self Released] (Full Album)

Cliff is from Little Rock, AK, and I would guess that "All Of Me" is his debut, but with a name like Cliff It's difficult to investigate fully.

A couple of tracks from it were played by Mark Merry on the Soul Sermon last Sunday (10 Oct 2021) found by one of his soul scouts Paul Regan. I was unable to find it in the normal places as it appears to only be available via BandCamp, released 8 Oct.

The two tracks that seem to be getting attention are "My Song", a bit of a stepper,  and "Nothing's Changed" which has a Latin rhythm. I also quite like "Kiss Me" and there are one or two other tracks that have potential but in general, as is often the case with self-released material, some of the vocal takes may have bypassed quality control!

Jamal Tru [201] - Jamal Tru [Self Released] (Full EP)

Jamal Tru (aka Julian Jamal Cunningham) from California released his debut. self-titled, seven track EP on 7 Oct 2021.

I feel that this is one to be listened to a few times to fully appreciate but the initial standout is "Head To The Sky" along with "Doing The Most".

Pink Sweat$ [2021] - I Feel Good [Atlantic]

The new single released today (15 Oct 2021) from Pink Sweat$ (David Bowden from Philadelphia, PA) is titled "I Feel Good" which is appropriate as it's a 'feel good' pop soul dancer which is short and to the point at only 2:16.  It's one of those 'annoyingly' catchy tunes that you don't really want to like, but it somehow gets under your skin!

After writing songs for others and recovering from a debilitating disease he decided in 2018 to keep his songs to himself and launched a solo career debuting with a single "Honesty". He has gone on to release over twenty singles, three EPs and an album since then.
