Joel Culpepper [2021] - Thought About You [Pepper]

New single released on 26 Mar 2021 from a new album 'Sgt Culpepper' due 23 Jul 2021.  The video is a 70s parody.

I've also included another video which combines two other album tracks 'Return' & 'W.A.R.' which were relased as a double-single last Nov.  'W.A.R.' is a funky/stomping Northern Soul style track. Another track, 'Poetic Justice' was released 21 Jan 2021, the remainder of the album is, as yet, unavailable.

Joel Culpepper is a cockney, raised in Peckham and Catford, London, who debuted in 2009 with a mixtape 'The Adventures Of Pensmith'.

I like these tunes as they are different and original, he's not following the herd!

Dennis Bettis [2021] - No Faces [Red Phase] (Full Album)

Dennis Bettis from Fyetteville, GA, is a  two time Grammy Nominated songwriter. He's written songs (since age of 11)  for Luther Vandross, Charlie Wilson, BoyzIIMen, Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill, and mamy others. His biggest hit was 'You Are' by Charlie Wilson in 2010 which spent 15 week at #1 and was Billboard R&B song of the year.

He's released a new album 'No Faces' on his own Red Phase label on 23 Mar 2021.

Shaila Prospere [2021] - Under My Skin [Attention Records / Shaila Prospere Music] (Full Album)

This one will be pretty well known to UK soul aficionados as it was released last year and featured in my 'Best Albums of 2020'. It is now available for digital download on Amazon as of 26 Mar 2021. The full album has also been posted on YT whereas before samples were only available from Shaila Prospere's website.

I could virtually select any track at random as the whole album is exceptional, but I've plumped for 'All Eyes On Us' and also added the Geroge B. extended mix, but you really should listen to the whole album if you haven't already.

Nigel Hall [2021] - Wake Me [Regime Music Group]

Nigel Hall releases a single from his forthcoming, sophomore, album 'Spiritual' which is due on 14 May 2021.

He is a vocalists/keyboardist from Washington D.C. but relocated to New Orleans in 2013 and is a member of funk band Lettuce. In 2009 he was nominated for a Grammy for his work on Ledesi's album 'Turn Me Loose'. He also feautured on Snark Puppy's 2013, Grammy nominated album, 'Family Dinner Volume One'.
