Terry Harris [2018] - It Never Rains [Izipho Soul #ZP19]

Released a few years ago on Izipho Soul is this neo/modern soul track from Terry Harris.

He hails from Memphis and had a #1 on the US Indie Soul Charts with a track big on the Chicago Stepper's scene 'On The Floor' which must have been digital only as can't find a CD.  It was released on vinyl by Izipho Soul with 'It Never Rans' on flip given the full treatment by New York mix maestro Dale Hitch.

He's got several other videos on his YouTube channel, check them out if you like these tracks.

Out On The Floor

Mark Johnson Feat. James Robinson [1995] - Daydream [JVC #JVC-2032-2]

Originally released on Daydream album (CD only) in 1995 on JVC, but has just had a 7" vinyl release on Patrick Biggerstaff's Izipho Soul label.

A fabulous jazz flavoured stepper with Mark Johnson on sax and James Robinson sounding very like Michael McDonald.  Modern Soul at its very best.

Mark Johnson Feat. David Cacares [2020] - Soakin' In The Sunshine [Izopho Soul #ZP44]

The flip side to the 45 is a a brand new track.

Jesse Graham [1994] - (When I) Think Of My Baby [Ichiban #ICH1175-2 / Izipho Soul #ZP34]

Another one that has recently seen it's first 45 release on Izipho Soul is Jesse Graham. Originally released on his 'Soul Music' album (CD and cassette only) back in 1994.

A lovely and smooth Modern Soul stepper. I feel sorry for some Northern Soul punters who seem to think that soul ended on 31st Dec 1969 as they are missing out on gems like this!

Two singles were released from the album Mr. Mailman / Do Me Baby in 1994 followed by Jodi / I Lied in 1996.  He also released another album on Big Bidness 'Stop The Rain c 1998 from which Lovers Before Friends / Stop The Rain was released as a single in 1998.

He also released another album in 2013 'Sexy Ladies' - not listed on Discogs.

On the B side is Love Talk also taken from the album. Here's the original followed by the Izipho Soul 45 has a re-edit.

Willie Clayton [2002] - Ooh Baby Baby [Endzone #EZR2056]

Not the Miracles classic, but a different song entirely and a nice modern soul dancer.  I'm not sure how well known this is as it's only released on 'The Last Man Standing' (CD only) from 2002.

It starts off with rap until the beat kicks in around 1:16 and turns into a 70s/80s style modern soul dancer.
