W3sst Feat. Shawtx Smithy & Trip G [2021] - Next Evening [3's Up Productions]

I first came across the music of W3sst earlier this year from an excellent album "Runnin'". He has a new album "Lessons Learned" out on Sunday (14 Nov 2021) and has released "Next Evening" from it as a single on 10 Nov as a teaser for the new album.

Taija Kerr [2021] - 7 [Peace Love Aloha] (Full Album)

Taija Kerr is an Afro-Hawaiian living in New York city. She released a debut album "7" on 7 Nov 2021.  The lead single is "Goddess" which was released on 2 Oct.

It's a very good debut album. I personally think that the weakest track is the one released as a single i.e. "Goddess" as there is much better material on the album. 

My choice cuts are "Top View", "Senses" and "Shoya Rice" (which  is yet another that uses that recurring sample used so many times already this year) but, as said, a pretty solid album on which she wrote all tracks, a couple with Danielle P. Williams who is also a features vocalist on "Top View".

Priestess Ekene [2021] - Runaway Love [Sacred Feminine] (Full EP)

Priestess Ekene (Ekene Botofasina) released a debut six track EP "Runaway Love" on 11 Nov 2021.

She released a single earlier this year "Break Of Dawn" which appears on the EP and three in 2019.

The standout track is "Belong".

Priestess Ekene was born in Nigeria and raised in US (now living in Brooklyn , NY) since she was 3. She credits her Nigerian roots and musical studies in classical, jazz, funk and West African music while earning her B.A. in Music from Tufts University as the basis of her sound. 

Over her 20 year career, Priestess Ekene has worked with a range of musical acts including Tomi Thomas, Dede, One Sound (Davido), DJ Java, Soulive, Goapele, Georgia Anne Muldrow, the Sai Anantam Ashram Singers feat. Surya Botofasina & Michelle Coltrane, Tuneyards, Shabaka Hutchings and many more. 

She took the name "Priestess" after completing a pilgrimage to the Osun shrine in Osogbo, Nigeria in 2018. In Ekene's words Priestess means, "committing to being a student of and expression of divine feminine embodiment and liberation in all its forms.."

Teyana Taylor [2021] - Junie Jams [UMG Recordings] (Full EP)

Teyana Taylor is from Harlem, NYC, and debuted in 2007 with a self-titled album which was promo omly, never released. Her first commercial release came in 2021 with "The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor".

She released a six track EP "Junie Jams" yesterday (12 Nov 2021) from which the choice cuts are "Gonna Love Me" and "Issues/Hold On" (which samples a version of  Billy Stewart's "I Do Love You" at the intro.

I noted that several of the tracks on this new EP (including the two choices above) were included on the 2018 album "K.T.S.E.". In addition she also released another six track EP yesterday "The Cool Mom" which also includes "Gonna Love Me" .. so who knows what's happening? I suspect that probably all of the cuts have appeared on an album, EP or even a single previously.

Looking further into it these don't seem to be available to buy so must be designed for streaming only?

Revo Marty (Revolbert Martino) is an Indonesian singer/songwriter. producer living in NYC who ahs released four albums and almost twenty singles since he started out in 2012.

His latest single "The One" featuring singer Witrie (also Indonesian) was released yesterday (12 Nov 2021).
