Coco O. [2023] - Low Key Let Go [Self Released]

Copenhagen's Coco O. (Cecilie Karshøj) took a hiatus after releasing her debut album  "It's A Process" in Apr '21. She's now released her third single of 2023.

We've posted her last two singles, "Many Ways"  and "Someone Younger", and her third of 2023 "Low Key Let Go" was released on 11 Aug.

Coco O. formed a duo with Robin Hannibal called Quadron in 2009 who released two albums. The name is derived from a Danish word meaning quarter race as they are both have biracial parents with Coco's father being Tanzanian descent.

She moved to L.A. for a few years and has worked with Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams.

Vel Nine & NugLife [2023] - PHASES [Have a Field Day Inc. / High Def Ent.]

An 'interesting' release, "PHASES" starts off with a nice groove, which draws you in, and then goes into hip-hop territory and then, around 2:15, converts into a sweet soul lowrider.

Vel Nine (aka Vel The Wonder) is Alyssa Romo from San Gabriel Valley and NugsLife is producer Steven Solis from Korea-town, L.A.

Emotional Oranges [2023] - STILL EMO [Avant Garden] (Full Album)

The fifth album from Emotional Oranges, "STILL EMO" was r released on 11 Aug. It Includes their last five singles amongst the eight tracks, so only three new songs, our pick of them being "Olympics" feat. Aáyanna

Emotional Oranges is a male/female duo from L.A. formed in 2017 by two artists who wish to remain anonymous and are simply known as "A" (an audio engineer for Drake) and "V" ( a vocal coach for Adele) who say they met at a bat mitzvah in 2017. If we had to guess, from writing/production credits, then the names Azad Naficy and Kelly Valentina Porter feature consistently.

They released "The Juice Vol. I" and "The Juice Vol. II" in 2019 followed by "The Juicebox" (Jun '21). We featured their last album "The Juice: Vol. III" in Dec '22.

Iris Aeria [2023] - DEVOTION [Self Released]

Iris Aeria is Iris Lalande, previously known as I.R.I.S., from Paris now living in South London. She debuted in March '21 with a four track EP "CHROMATIC, VOL. 1" and initially featured here with the rather good "Weshside" in Jun '22.

In June '23 she released her debut album named after her single "WESHSIDE". Her first releases since then is the single "DEVOTION". 

As with some of her other recordings, it is sung partially in her native French tongue and English. It has a Latin vibe and, as appears to be a current trend, a sped up version is included which nudges it up from 92 to 98 BPM which also changes the key up a semi-tone!
