Up and coming DMV artist Niya Imani (Niya Morris) has two
projects under her belt since her first six track EP "Ambience" in May 2019. She released an eight tracker "Late Niyts" in Sep 2020 but she is calling her latest, "Girl, If Only He Knew", her debut album.
There's a lot to digest, as it contains seventeen tracks, but a few
stood out on first listen such as "Krrrma", "Reflection" (reminiscent of the style of Jazmine Sullivan), "Feel Me" (which has a nice jazz vibe), "Fun Girl" and "Heart Of Mine" in particular. Most of the tracks are marked explicit.
We think this is one that you need to listen to a few times to appreciate the full potential. It's well produced and well executed,
predominantly R&B oriented with a few bits of rap sprinkled here and
there but some nice soulful R&B tunes amongst the set.
