Elvis Presley With The Jordanaires [1968] - Let Yourself Go [RCA Victor #47-9547]
An 'oddity' I stumbled across this evening. Never heard it or of it, so don't know how well known this is, so thought I'd post if for others, like me, who didn't know about it.
It was recorded in June 1967 for the movie Speedway in which he co-starred with Nancy Sinatra (in her last film role) and was released as the B side to 'Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby' a year later in June 1968. It only reached #72 on the Hot 100 (for A side) so probably relatively unknown to all but the ardent Elvis fans, although I have discovered that it actually got to #22 in UK. The film is rated 5.8/10 on IMDB, so if you get 'desperate' over Christmas you can watch it on Amazon Prime!
The song was written by Joy Byers who also wrote a few other songs played such as Betty O'Brien's - 'She'll Be Gone', Timi Yuro / L.J. Reynolds etc. 'What's A Matter Baby', Jimmy Church / Freddie North - 'The Hurt', Jimmy Fraser - 'Of Hopes And Dreams And Tombstones'.
