consider the remix by Dr Packer (Greg Packer from Australia) to be the best of the bunch as all the others are too 'clubbed
up'.
Just glancing down the Traxsource Soul / Funk / Disco chart there are at
least seven out of the top 10 which are all 'reworking's/remixes' of club hits:
02/ Doug Willis & Dave Lee (Mighty Clouds Of Joy 1975) - 'Mighty
High'
03/ Kathy Brown (1999) - 'Happy People'
04/ Siedah Garrett (1985) - 'Do You Want It Right Now'
07/ Alaia & Gallo (Creative Source 1973) - 'Who Is He?'
08/ Riva Starr (Nolan Porter 1972) - 'If I Could Only Be Sure'
09/ Fingerman (Real Thing 1980) - 'She's a Groovy Freak'
10/ Roundtree (1978) - 'Get On Up (Get On Down)'
Really? It would be nice to hear some original material!
