Some are obviously better than others but I haven't had time to sift through them all to identify the best ones for posting and Friday's onslaught is approaching so will let you choose for your self!

Tessa King [2022] - Euphoria [Ellemer Records]

By sheer coincidence another I've dug out of the shortlist from the last week is another Voice contestant. This time it's 23 year old singer/songwriter Tessa King (aka Shannon Kitchen) from Bristol who auditioned for  The Voice (UK) in 2017.

Unfortunately she didn't get selected after the first round but has gone on to release her third  single "Euphoria" on 27 Jan 2022, having releasing two last year.

Lenny Williams [2004] Can't Nobody Do Me Like You [Lentom]

So why am I posting this you may wonder? Well "Can't Nobody Do Me Like You" has been a bit of an evergreen for Lenny Williams first appearing on "My Way" in 2004 followed by "It Must Be Love" in 2007 and again in 2015 on "Blues, Grooves & Other Moods". 

The song is due for imminent release again as a duet with the only surviving Jones Girl, Shirley Jones, with the title shortened to "Can't Nobody" and also a shorter running time (4 min v 5 min), but isn't available yet so I thought I'd put up this teaser for it in the meantime. 

If you wish to listen to the new duet it has been posted today on SoulTracks. There's no word of a release date there or on Lenny's website, so watch this space.

Graciela Chin A Loi [2022] - Closer [Ropeadope]

It's that time of the week when the new releases start drying up before the weekend so I'll catch up with a few short-listed but not yet posted from the last week or so.

Graciela Chin A Loi is a singer/songwriter from Stockholm with roots in neo-soul, jazz and gospel.  Her parents are Surinamese and her father was a Scandinavian pioneer of Cuban salsa and Caribbean music.

She released her latest single "Closer" on 14 Jan 2022 which I guess you would class as jazzy neo soul.  I think this may be one that will grow on you more and more with each play if it hasn't already grabbed you?

Ricky Duran [2022] - Circles / Star [Self Released]

Ricky Duran from Austin, TX, was runner-up on Season 17 of The Voice in 2019. I came across his debut album "Space & Time" released yesterday (1 Feb 2022) and, whilst it is predominantly pop/country, there are two nice 'soulful' tracks which I thought were worth posting.

The two tracks are "Circles" and "Star" both self written, "Circles" with Dakota Colby.
