St. Jude [2021] - Pressure (Dr Packer Re-Edit) [Nervous #NER25204]

A track that was a floorfiller on both Northern and Modern soul dancefloors c 2000 (and beyond) by Drizabone (with Kymberley Peer who replaced Dee Heron on lead vocals) has been covered by St. Jude with a Dr Packer Re-Edit and released 19 Mar 2021. 

There are two mixes, a 6:15 mix and the 5:32 Dr Packer Re-Edit which is, for me, the better mix and the one featured below but you can listen to both mixes here.

I've notice that there is also another track called Pressure also with a Dr Packer Remix by Elle Murphy, who was a Voice (Australia) contestant in 2016, scheduled for release 22 Apr 2021. I wonder if it's the same song? Dr. (Greg) Packer is also Australian.

Do we really need yet another cover of Gaye's masterpiece ... why not?

Veteran singer Brother Reggie (a native of Columbus, Ohio, now residing in Washington D.C.) releases a single from his forthcoming album 'UnderCover Brother Vol. 2: Just Us' due out on 1 May 2021.

It's a cover version of a Sam Dees & Ron Kersey song recorded by Atlantic Starr and released as their seventh single in 1980 which reached #16 US R&B (listen here).

Ezinne Nnorom [2021] - Slow Down [Self Released]

From a new album 'Water Sign' released 13 Mar 2021. Another one of those predominantly R&B albums but there are two tracks which pricked my ears up, the featured track 'Slow Down' (which I believe was released as a single in Feb last year) and 'Get Home' released as a single in 2015 which has a sample of Erykah Badu's 'Didn't Cha Know' bassline.

I can't find any info on the artist but she appears to have been releasing material for several years and this is a collection of some of her earlier and new material on, what I assume is, her debut album.

Donell Jones [2021] - Karma (Payback) [Candyman Music Inc.]

Donell Jones makes comeback after several years abscence (I don't think he's released an album since 2013), 25 years after his 1996 debut with a seven track EP '100%' released 14 Feb 2021. 

The only 'soulful' track is 'Karma (Payback)' as the rest of the EP is R&B,'100%' has a reggae vibe and 'I Do' has a club feel.
