Tasha Angela [2022] - Space & Time [Self Released]

Tasha Angela is yet another new artist from Toronto. To date she has released five singles and a five track EP "Hidden Gems" since 2019.

She has a new single "Space & Time" set for release next Friday which has kindly been forwarded by Global:Soul Radio co-owner JMSoul.

Tasha will be appearing at the next Global:Soul Showcase on Monday 19th Sep 2022 at The Blues Kitchen, Manchester along with Latanya Alberto, July 7, Etta Bond and Tilly Valentine with at least one other act to be confirmed.

The showcase will once again be hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Victoria Jane with JM Soul, Franklin Sinclair and Chaise spinning the tunes.

Rich Beggar [2022] - Sucha Good Feelin' (Don-E Chuffed Mix) [Self Released]

Having spent 32 years writing, arranging and producing for others, as well as acting roles, Rich Beggar (aka Prem Sharma) launched a solo recording career with the release of his first single "Who Can Be Sure" on 7 Jun 2021

In Oct 2021 he released a cover of Mint Condition's "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)" (a #6 Billboard Hot 100 hit in 1992) with a George B remix (George Bromfield was a member of UK jazz/funk band Second Image in late 70s/80s).

His latest, and third, single "Sucha Good Feeling" is produced by Don-E and is currently only available from Rich Beggar website 

He has also just released a new mix of "Sucha Good Feelin'" with a "Don-E Chuffed Mix" which is also only currently available on the website.

Lisa Dietrich [2022] - Move Me No Mountain [ldcoco music]

The new single from L.A. singer/songwriter, producer/arranger Lisa Dietrich is a cover of "Move Me No Mountain" originally recorded by Love Unlimited in 1974, an album only cut on "In Heat". It was then covered by Dionne Warwick in 1975 (originally a UK only B side single in Jun 1975 later the sides were flipped around in Aug 1975. I was only an album track in US on "Then Came You")  followed by Chaka Khan in 1980 (again an album only track on "Naughty"). 

There have been a few subsequent covers by Soul II Soul in 1992 (a #31 UK pop chart hit)and more recently in 2019 by Quiana Lynell. There are probably others but these are the choice ones.

The song was written by prolific songwriter Jerry Ragovoy and Aaron Shroeder who was the head of Musicor Records and wrote seventeen songs and five #1 hits for Elvis Presley including "Its' Now Or Never" (aka just one cornetto!).

Whilst it is listed on Amazon it doesn't seem to be available for sale yet or there is an error in the listing as when clicked on it doesn't open he correct page.

Sunshine Makers Feat. Aquakultre [2022] - Got to Be Good [Self Released]

Sunshine Makers are yet another relatively new soul band from Toronto. They have released only three singles since their first in 2018. Their third, "Got To Be Good", was released yesterday (19 Aug 2022) featuring another Canadian artist Aquakultre who's latest album "Don't Trip" was released last month.

All three songs have been written by band leader singer/songwriter Brent Jackson. They all lean more towards the pop end of the blue-eyed soul spectrum (although they are a mixed race group) with the backing/bassline of the latest single reminiscent of the Nile Rogers & Bernard Edwards song "Thinking Of You" recorded by Sister Sledge.

Bob Baldwin Feat. Tynia Canada [2022] - Summertime 3000 (Don't You Cry) [City Sketches Records]

Having just re-posted the single "Let's Rewind" by Bob Baldwin featuring Kathy Kosins, he has pre-released another single from the "B Positive" album due on 1 Sep 2022.

It is a contemporary jazz reworking/reimagining of the Gershwin standard "Summertime" titled "Summertime 3000 (Don't You Cry)" featuring Tynia Canada on vocal duties. It comes in full length 5:49 minutes album version along with a 3:00 minute radio edit.
