Another new single from David Morales with three mixes of a track not included on his album "Life Is A Song".

"Why Me" comes with NYC DJ/Producer Cevin Fisher Edit, Vocal and Instrumental mixes featuring (Angelo) Iossa from Naples (Italy) on vocals. It was released on 14 Apr 2022 and is a bit more disco oriented (with shades of Chic)  than "Life Is A Song Philly Mix" released a week earlier, also posted today.

Tony Walk, Dj Pope [2022] - Turn Your Love Around [FunkHut Records #FHO39]

Having already posted the title track from Tony Walk's forthcoming EP "Good Vibes Only" earlier today I've just come across a new mix of a cover of George Benson's 1981 hit "Turn You Love Around" which he originally recorded on his debut album "Introducing Tony Walk" .

The remix, by Baltimore's Brian 'Dj' Pope, is due for release on 29 Apr 2022 on Traxsource.

CODĒ! [2022] - Footsteps In the Dark, Pts. 1 & 2 / I.L.W.Y. [Underestimated Productions]

The Isley Brothers certainly are flavour of the month with yet another cover of one of their songs and another cover of "Footsteps In The Dark" (released by Jarrod Lawson on 8 Apr and a new entry to UK Soul Chart this week) and of course with the Output/Input at #1 with their version of "Here We Go Again".  

This version's by singer/songwriter/producer CODĒ! (Cody Jefferson from Arkansas) released last Friday (15 Apr 2022). He has a background in gospel from the age of 8.

I've not come across CODĒ! before and he appears to have emerged last year with a debut single in April "U + Me" and an album "More Than I Knew" followed in June. The current single is only his fourth to date and sandwiched between the first and last are "I.L.W.Y" and a Christmas cover "Christmas Time Is Here".

"I.L.W.Y" was released on 11 Feb and is a good ballad, so I'll also post it.

Array [2022] - Hope He Can Fight [Self Released]

Released yesterday (20 Apr 2022) is the fifth single "Hope He Can Fight" from Atlanta based artist Array (Isaac Chatman) and his first since 2019. Unfortunately it's explicit and uses both the 'N' and 'B' words which will probably preclude it from radio airplay unless a clean version is released or someone edits out these words (why would/should they in order to be able to play it on radio?).  That's a shame as otherwise it's a good song with a contemporary yet old school feel.

Tony Walk [2022] - Good Vibes Only [Self Released]

Tony Walk debuted on the blog in Aug 2021 with his single "The One For You" and featured again in Feb with "Stay". He has already released an album "Introducing Tony Walk" in 2020 (which is mainly cover versions) and has a debut EP "Good Vibes Only" due on 6 May which contains both singles.

The title track has been distributed as promos to promote the forthcoming EP.

Tony has spent many years supporting other artists (including Aretha Franklin) with backing vocals and is now stepping out on his own.

David Morales [2022] - Life Is A Song (Philly Mix) [DIRIDIM]

A great new Philly Mix of David Morales "Life Is A Song" featuring Michelle Perera with the tempo beefed upped from 110 BPM to the obligatory 122 house BPM  which gives it a bit more energy and a new lease of life.

It comes with three mixes, full length (6:23) vocal and instrumental and a 2:43 radio edit which probably doesn't do it justice.

Previously only available on 12" vinyl but now available digitally from 7 Apr 2022.
