La Shana Latrice [2023] - My Everything [Self Released]

Birmingham's (UK), La Shana Latrice's latest single is "My Everything" released on Monday (8 May). She last featured here with her sophomore album "Don't Cheat Yourself" in Mar ('23). The single wasn't included on the album and is her first release since.

After studying music at college, she commenced a successful career in modelling and then transitioned to music releasing her first single "Girls Need Love" in 2019.

Haile Supreme & Statik Selektah [2023] - TNT [Showoff Records]

After touring the world with different artists over the last ten years and lending his voice to artists such as Nas and Lil Wayne and others, Brooklyn's (NYC) Haile Supreme embarked on a solo career in 2019. He released three single before his debut EP "Ear Tones". 

He states that his music is a "blending of mystical blues, intergalactic jazz and the rub-a-dub spirit of roots reggae".

His latest single "TNT" (released today 12 May '23) is a collaboration with hip-hop DJ/producer Statik Selektah (aka Patrick Baril from Lawrence, MA).

Unbeknown to us, Roger Soulsorts Williams has informed us the song samples a track "Together" by New York City Band which was featured (on a 2007 French CD reissue only) of their 1979 self-titled album that we have included below for interest. Luther Vandross featured on backing vocals on the album.

Gia Gray is a singer/songwriter  from West London who has been around since 2017. She released her latest single "TOP SHOTTA" on 12 May '23 which has an island vibe.

Not sure what a top shotta is but apparently shotta is Jamaican slang for an armed gangster, but I don't think that's what she's referring to?

Soulkap [2023] - Voices [Self Released] (Full EP)

Soulkap is a beat maker, producer and bass player based in Italy. In 2019 he released a song called "On The Edge" which is no longer available. However, it has appeared on a three track EP "Voices" released on Bandcamp (7 May' 23).

The singer for "On The Edge" is Martina Ibrahim and for the other two tracks is Virginia Mai.

Ruby Lewin-Clarke [2023] - Blue Moon Baby [twotwentytwo] (Full EP)

A new three track EP "Blue Moon Baby" from Ruby Lewin-Clarke which 'appears' to be her debut release. From her accent we would guess that she is from UK/London and would be surprised if this is a debut release as it is self-written and sounds accomplished and self-assured. However, we are unable to find any information about her and not much is given away on her Instagram.

All tracks are good with "Water" edging it over "Calm My Soul" for us.

Shaked Miller [2023] - Best of This World [Self Released] (Full EP)

Tel Aviv based singer, songwriter and producer Shaked Miller debuted this year and has already released four singles ("Hold On" (8 Jan), "Get The Girl" (5 Feb) , "Clouds" (5 Mar) and "Take It All Away" (8 May)).

Her six track debut EP "Best Of The World" was released yesterday (12 May) which contains all four singles. She will be releasing her debut album "Kuli Alma" on 21 May in which she states that she explores her own identity, beliefs and bisexuality, through previous relationships and sharing her experiences and thoughts about love, expectations and the freedom to be and celebrate yourself.
