Mikhalé Jones [2021] - It Is What It Is [Universal] (Full Album)

The debut album, "It Is What It Is", from Mikhalé Jones, who is from Johannesburg, was released last week (1 Oct 2021).  It is mainly an R&B album. 

The choice cut is "Talk To Me" (which was released as a single 7 Sep 2021) but "Rock It" (single Nov 2020) will probably appeal to those who like the edgy / future soul sound. "Get Over You" is the latest single released yesterday (9 Oct) and "I Got It Bad" came out as a single on 13 Aug.

I've included a video for "My Soul" which is the only one in which she features in 'the flesh' on her YouTube channel as it was released as a single last year (Oct 2020).

Elujay is a singer/songwriter/producer from Oakland, CA whilst Serpentwithfeet hails from Baltimore, MD.

It's a laid back tune with a reggae/lovers rock feel ... but then the clue's in the title "Luvaroq".

THE MILF [2021] - Doctor Love [BeachGroove]

Last week I posted another track by The MILF which was their version of EWF "You Can't Hide Love". That was released 30 Sep and the very next day they released this cover of First Choice's "Doctor Love" from 1977.

I'm not normally a fan of these sorts of things as there are simply far too many of them around (and being a 'old git' remember the originals) but these guys do seem to bring something new to the party. This is as tight as a Scotsman's wallet ... and before the complaints come flooding in I'm Scots born to a Yorkshireman so as tight as they come🤣!

SoulStrutter Top 20 - 10th Oct 2021

The SoulStrutter Top 20 of the most viewed posts in the last 30 days (i.e. blog readers choices).

Down To Earth stay at the top for the third and last week as their 30 days will have expired by next week. They are currently topping most UK Soul charts except the 'alleged' 'definitive' one which must really put into question it's claimed 'definiteness' as it hasn't even appeared in it's top 20 ... you can make up your own mind on the rationale behind that one!  

Cornell CC Carter comes straight in at #2 only 3 days since release.

The big surprise is the track by Marvin Gaye featuring Beverley Knight from the forthcoming London Philharmonic Orchestra Motown album which enters a #4!
