IYAMAH & Kofi Stone [2023] - Green Grass [Self Released]

It is just over two years since IYAMAH featured here with her last album "Tough Love" in May '21. It was her third album in as many years ("The Truth EP. 2" (Oct '20) and "The Truth EP. 2" (Mar '19)). 

Since then she has released just one 5 track EP "Sometimes, I'm Speechless" in Dec '22. That is until now as she released a single "Green Grass" with Kofi Stone on Friday (30 Jun).

She released her first single 'Cryptic Love' in 2018 and describes her music as 'rootsy soul'.

Maydien & Mitchell Yard are a duo from Amsterdam. Maydien the vocalist and Mitchell Yard the producer. Maydien's releases go back to 2012 whilst Mitchel Yard's to 2017.

Sire [2022] - Thug Matrimony [Musical Chronic Entertainment] (Full Album)

The writers credits on all songs includes Sir Khalil Young (presumably Sire) and a Google search turned up some 'interesting' results which I wont publish in case it's a different person but from images it does appear to be the same person! I'll let you investigate yourself and draw your own conclusions.

On 7 Mar he released an album "Thug Matrimony" which may appeal to those who like a bit of rap and R&B urban flavas. All but two tracks have explicit content. I've no idea how or who decides what's explicit or not as 45 seconds into "The Knowing" the N-word is used which is one of the two marked as not explicit, so just assume that they are all explicit.

One of the best tracks is the last one "Right Now" which 'may' be the only non-explicit one, along with "No Sense" which has  sample in it that I recognise but can't name.

Centric Feat. Kenya & T3 [2022] - Always On My Mind [FreeAtLastMusic]

Composer, producer and one half of the hip-hop duo Grand Opus, Centric,  is set to release his latest project "Love Received" later this year. A single from it, "Always On My Mind" featuring Kenya and rapper T3 of Slum Village, will be released tomorrow (25 Feb 2022).

Kenya Maguire Johnson is singer/songwriter from Chicago who topped the UK Soul Charts for four weeks with  "My Own Skin" in 2015.

T3 is one of the founding members of the legendary Detroit rap group Slum Village with J Dilla and Baatin. He is the only surviving member of the original trio as the others are now deceased

Hasan Johnson, Bedstuy Gab & Markee McFly [2022] - Best of Luck [L.C Experience]

"Best Of Luck" was another released on Valentine's Day by  Hasan Johnson, Bedstuy Gab & Markee McFly.

The writing credits are Damon Hasan Johnson, Raschid Stuart and Mark Morales so i would guess they are also the artists?

This tune has been posted mainly as I am intrigued as to what the sample being used is. So I Shazamed it and it threw up Casey Nolan "No Hard Feelings" (2019) which doesn't really help as it's another rap tune using the same sample! If anyone knows the sample being used please leave a comment.

To add even more intrigue a video of Casey Nolan's version is posted on YouTube with a different title i.e. "Good Luck Forgetting Me (Wait For It)". 

In the comments it states the following :

"All background music was used from artist audio library and is licensed and royalty free".

The library being used is Epidemic Sound so that may explain why so many songs use the same samples i.e. The Ambassadors song, Supreme Jubilees and 'that' other sample that keeps coming up frequently!
