Sound of SuperBad Feat. Joyce San Mateo [2022] - Loving You (Ubiquity Mix) [Self Released]

A new Ubiquity Mix of "Loving You", a song from the recent EP "You're The Best Thing", is released exclusively today (29 Oct 2022) on Bandcamp. 

The more laid back 2 A.M. Mix seems to be the one that has been the preferred take from the EP. The Ubiquity Mix gives a more 'spacey' vibe which sits in between the previous two mixes.

The Sound of Superbad are Andy Welland and Sarah Perrett (aka Sassy P). Joyce San Mateo is a singer, originally from the Philippines who has been living in the Netherlands for a long time, who takes lead vocals. She's co-written songs on the albums of the legendary jazz funk trumpeter Tom Browne's "Legacy" (2016), and "Come What May" (2020) and also on the latest album of Shakatak bassist, George Anderson's 2021 album "Songs from Tomorrow".

Charlene [2022] - Keep Shining [Savannah Street Music]

Charlene (Charlene Michael-Imobioh) is a London-based, British-Nigerian singer who got a break when attending London's Jazz Cafe in 2011 to see Conya Doss. Doss asked for a member of the audience to join her on stage and Charlene's friends pushed her forward. Conya whispered the lyrics and Charlene sang them. She impressed some members of the audience she who have since worked with her to produce a new album "Red Carpet".

Her last single was "Crazy 4 U" released in Jul '22 which she now follows with "Keep Shining" (14 Oct 2022).

Emma Benwell [2022] - The One [Self Released]

London based Emma Benwell released her seventh single "The One" since her first in Nov 2021 today (29 Oct 2022).

She is from a musical family being the daughter of rock singer Tina Egan who was sister of Rusty Egan (Rich Kids, Skids, Visage etc. and influential Blitz DJ instrumental in introducing the New Romantic era). Her sister Angela, daughter Elise Christina and grandparents are all singers. She formed, and is the lead singer, of  Mad Molly Band.

Jodie Marie [2022] - I Put a Spell on You [Carmel Records]

A new interpretation of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins classic "I Put A Spell On You" by Pembrokeshire's Jodie Marie Warlow was released on 28 Oct 2022. The song is possibly best known for Nina Simone's 1965 version which this new version is more akin to than the original raw version.

Jodie was discovered when she was just 16 years old in 2012 and began writing songs with Suede's Bernard Butler and Ed Harcourt and released her debut album "Mountain Echo" the same year. She now has a dozen singles and three albums in her locker.
