Melonyx are duo Georgia Copeland and Nadia Latoya from Nottingham and this two track EP 'Black Elixir' is (as far as I can ascertain) their second release (4 May 2021). They released a single 'Worth The Wait' in May 2020 on BandCamp. The preferred track is 'Energy'.

Parson James & JoJo [2021] - Dirty Laundry [12Tone Music]

Parson James (Ashton Parson) was born in South Carolina and raised by his mother. He moved to NY at 17. His debut single was released in 2014 and he had a hit with his third single as a featured artist with Kygo ('Stole The Show') in 2015.

His latest single (released 30 Apr 2021) features JoJo (who had several pop hits in the early noughties) and leans towards the pop side of soulful R&B but it's quite a pleasant tune.

Lamone Feat. Najee [2021] - You Complete Me

Continuing the 'looting' of SoulTracks, they have an exclusive of the new single from Lamone Feat. Najee 'You Complete Me' which is due for release on Friday (7 May 2021), and very pleasant it is too. A slice of jazz/soul, as you would expect with the presence of Najee. I'll post the sound file when it is released on Friday, but until then check it out on SoulTracks.

I found an article on Minton's Playhouse (a Harlem jazz club) where he was performng on 16 Oct 2019, stating that it was due out in summer 2019:

"A multi-talented vocalist, songwriter, and producer with an incredible vocal range. Lamone is a leader and a “soulja” of music who blazes his own trail. He has been featured on worldwide tours with smooth Jazz pioneer Najee and sang on the notable song “Fallin in Love” on Najee’s release “My Point of View”. The summer of 2019 is sure to be hot with his latest single “You Complete Me”."

... so I wonder why that never happened?

Whllst SoulTracks is 'hot' on this release they are way behind on Michon Young as they have only just featured her last single 'Your'e Number 1 In My Book' which came out on 22 Jan (on 2 May)  when she has now superceded that release with 'Happy' on 30 Apr!

Brother Reggie [2021] - Undercover Brother, Vol. 2: Just Us [No-Sweat Records]

In March, veteran singer Brother Reggie (Reginald Carreker), released 'Send For Me' (a Sam Dees song recorded by Atlantic Starr) from his forthcoming album 'Undercover Brother, Vol. 2: Just Us'. The album has now been released on 1 May 2021, and consists of covers of classic slow jams.

They are mainly 70s/80s tunes ranging from two versions of EWF's 'That's The Way Of The World', 'Love Ballad' (LTD/George Benson), 'Love Changes' (Mother's Finest/Meli'sa Morgan), 'Heaven Must Be Like This' (Ohio Players and done recently by Hil St. Soul), 'Love's Train' (ConFunkShun) and 'Sensuality (Isley Bros.), with a couple of more recent songs 'On My Mind' (Brian Culbertson 1997) and 'Say Yes' (Floetry 2001).

SoulTracks has awarded this their Featured Album of the Month. I have my own views on the album which I'm keeping to myself, I'll let you make up your own mind.

Acantha Lang [2021] - Whatever Happened To Our Love? [Self Released]

I've checked out the new release from Acantha Lang several times, I don't rate it as highly as her last release 'Lois Lang' but SoulTracks has nominated it as their Song Of The Month and Mark Merry played it on his latest show, so some obviously like it.

This is her third single to date, but she has loads of live perfromances on her YT channel and is certainly a talent to watch out for, but I find this release a little disappointing compared to the last, but perhaps I'm in a minority?
