Out today is a Lack Of Afro Remix of Acantha Lang's debut single "He Said/She Said" originally released in Oct 2020 and featured on her debut album "Beautiful Dreams" last June.

It's a tighter and even funkier take on the original which we will also post a video for, for comparison.

Acantha Lang [2023] - Beautiful Dreams [Magnolia Blue Records] (Full Album)

Acantha Lang's debut album "Beautiful Dreams" is released today (30 Jun '23) and will be available digitally, on CD and vinyl.

Acantha will be performing at an official album release show with a full 9-piece band next week (Thu 6  Jul) at Blues Kitchen,  Brixton, London. Tickets available HERE.

Originally Acantha signed 50 CD/vinyl albums which went to the first 50 orders but she has signed more so if you want a signed album grab one quickly by ordering from from Bandcamp.

Not surprisingly amongst its 13 tracks, it includes all of her 8 singles along with the title track of her "Sugar Woman" EP. Therefore, the album contains all of her previously released material excluding a track from "Sugar Woman" EP (a cover of the Film Night  theme Billy Taylor Trio's "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free" later sung by Nina Simone in 1967 on "Silk & Soul").

Ms Lang, originally from New Orleans arriving in London via New York, has covered over 100 songs on her YouTube channel under the banner "Standing On The Shoulders Of ... ", which has received over 10m views, and is regularly performing live gigs.

We've followed Acantha's career since her second single "Lois Lang" in Jan '21 and last month she made her debut appearance on live US TV on CBS Saturday Morning performing three songs from the album ("He Said / She Said ", "It's Gonna Be Alright" and "Sugar Woman").

Acantha Lang [2023] - Beautiful Dreams [Magnolia Blue Records] (+ Album Promo)

Acantha Lang's debut album "Beautiful Dreams" is released this Friday (30 Jun '23) and will be available digitally, on CD and vinyl. You can pre-order now via Bandcamp.

We posted a teaser at the beginning of May which included music videos for all but three of the tracks ("Come Back Home" (which has subsequently been released as a single), the title track "Beautiful Dreams" and "A Word From My Momma - Interlude"). In addition she has produced live videos for two other songs ("Eventually" and "Keep On") so the only song that has not been heard yet, unless you have attended one of her live gigs where she has performed it (as in this one),  is the title track.

We have been sent a sneak preview which we can share with you below, along with all other tracks from the album except the interlude.

Acantha Lang [2023] - Come Back Home [Self Released]

The latest single from Acantha Lang's debut album "Beautiful Dreams" due 30 Jun '23 is "Come Back Home" released today (19 May '23).

The song is about her father who left home when Acantha was 11 who she didn't see again for many years after that. It's written from a very personal perspective from the point of view of her as as a child wishing that her father would come back home.

Acantha Lang [2023-05-06] - Live on US TV (CBS Saturday Morning) VIDEOS

On Friday evening we notified you that Acantha Lang was making her debut appearance on national U.S. TV on CBS Saturday Morning! on, funnily enough, Saturday morning.

That, of course, was of no use to non U.S. residents, and Acantha informed us that videos of her performance would be available, and they came through this morning. She performed three songs, already released, which will feature on her debut album "Beautiful Woman" which is now available to pre-order for release on 20 Jun '23 (which we gave you a preview of).

The first is her debut single "He Said, She Said" (Dec '20) followed by her "It's Gonna Be Alright" (Aug '22) and the title track from her Aug '21 EP "Sugar Woman".

It would appear that all her singles pre "Sugar Woman" have now been withdrawn but are included on her album.
