Chicago 'veteran' Cardell (Harrington) released his latest single "Don't You Worry" on 26 Sep 2022.

He debuted way back in 1989 with "Baby Don't Fool Around" and has been a favourite on the UK soul scene for a while.

Tara Lily [2022] - Last Flight Out [EMI] (Full EP)

A new five track EP by Tara Lily "Last Flight Out" was released yesterday and is posted mainly for "You Can Go" which was released as a single on 28 Sep which I was going to post until I saw the EP come out.

She comes from Peckham, South London and is of British/Bangladeshi heritage (Scottish mother and Bangaldeshi father) and spent her late teens developing her own unique brand of Jazz.

Her first single was self released in 2018 and in 2021 she was signed by Motown and this is now her third EP for the label.

This appears to be the third single by Chinese artists Via who according to her Spotify profile was born in 1994 and graduated from Berklee College of Music.

All her material has been released this year including an album "Free Fall" posted in April.

Cedric Sean [2022] - Safe with Me [Self Released] (Full EP)

Cedric Sean (Cedric Shawn Hodo) is a new artist from Chicago who released a single "Feel That Way" in May 2021 and now a six track EP "Stay Safe With Me" which contains his only single to date. 

I did find a Cedric Sean on Soundcloud which does sound like the same singer and there is a a four track EP uploaded "LOVE... FROM MY VIEW" from Apr 2020. 

The standout track from the new EP is "Lets Fall" but there are a couple of other good tracks including the title track "Safe with Me".

DMo! [2022] - Also Known As [Antares Entertainment] (Full Album)

D Maurice has rebranded himself as DMo! (a childhood nickname) and his first release under his new moniker is "Also Known As" released on 21 Sep 2022. At that time it was only available either from his website or via Bandcamp (and posted from Bandcamp last Friday) but it has now landed on thee main DSPs  (28 Sep).

He was born in Chicago, and raised in Harvey, IL, and is now based in Atlanta, GA. He has been immersed in music since before he sang his first solo at church at 10 years old and states that his musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Commissioned and The Winans. He has spent the last 17 years supporting other artist such as Eric Roberson. In 2016 he released an album "Mosaic" and as far as i can tell has released only one single, "Winter Girl" since in March 2020.

Presumably the lead single will be "FriendZone" featuring Moonchild's Amber Navran as he has uploaded a video for it on his YouTube channel on Monday (19 Sep).

There are other guest appearances on the album from Eric Roberson (of course) but also Sy Smith, Nndi and brayla.

A few highlights include "DYFTSW" (Do You Feel The Same Way) which features Sy Smith which seems to be another 'borrowing' from S.O.S. Band's "Tell Me You If Still Care" (1983). Another cover of Creative Source/EWF "Can't Hide Love".
