Papik presents The Soultrend Orchestra feat. Nadyne Rush [2023] - Let's Fall In Love [Irma Records]

Italian composer, arranger, producer and pianist Nerio "Papik" Poggi is behind The Soultrend Orchestra who have released a new single "Let's Fall In Love" featuring Nadyne Rush. 

We think that this one will see plenty of action, as what's not to like? It has a classic modern soul groove with hints of Latin, a tinkling piano and stabs of brass. A sure-fire winner.

Nadyne Rush is an Italian-Haitan singer who has sung with Mario Biondi  and by coincidence (as we posted a new version of Anita Baker's Rapture by Ken@Work "Rapturous" yesterday) she recorded a version of the song on Papik's  "Sound For The Open Road Vol. 2" in 2020 (included below).

Heather Victoria [2023] - Toxic [Jamla Records]

Raleigh, NC's, Heather Victoria Gavin began her musical journey with 9th Wonder (Patrick Douthit) on his indie label Jamla Records around 2014. Douthit was a professor at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) where she was a student from 2009.

She credits her major influences as her mother (who was in the group Ultra Sonic) along with the usual suspects Mary J. Blige, Anita Baker, Monica, Toni Braxton, and Beyoncé.

Strangely, she seems to have released more albums than singles with four albums to her name yet only three singles, the last single, and her first solo release since 2019, being "Toxic".

Queen Ilise feat. Sam Watson [2023] - Breath Away [Self Released]

Queen Ilise is Brooklyn, NYC, born, L.A.-based singer and songwriter (and former maths teacher) Christina Ilise Lorenzo, who is also a life coach and yoga instructor.

She released her debut album, "Breakthrough", in Jun 2019 which chronicles her journey freeing herself from a toxic relationship to find peace and empowerment. Her music has featured in a few movies: "Used", "Borrowed Time" and "Aligned".

Her first single for some time (since Feb 2021) is "Breath Away" feat. Detroit's Sam Watson.
