Following yesterday's post of "The Chase" by
Michael Leonhart & Jswiss feat. Keyon Harrold & DJ Logic, here's some more jazz influenced hip-hop from
DJ Green Lantern, on his latest album "Jazz Dream". Don't panic as it's predominantly jazzy hip-hop beats rather than
rap.
Many of the tracks feature well known songs for example Blondie's
"Rapture" on "Step Into A World Pt. 1 & Pt.2" (which features Moonchild's Amber Navran) and "Let It Get Into You" uses Marvin's "I Want You" and Tom Browne's "Funkin' for
Jamaica".
DJ Green Lantern (aka Evil Genius) is DJ/producer James D'Agostino from Rochester, NY, who
rose to prominence when signed to Eminen's Shady Records around 2002 and
became his official DJ. He'd released dozens on mixtape/albums since
1998.
