Another new name to us is south London's Geneivah
Magrin who's been releasing her music since 2018. Her first release of
2023 is a lovely debut six track EP "Songs & Soliloquies". which she describes as 'a conversation of my heart and mind through song and poetry'.
A few of our recommendations from a good set are "Like You",
"Plant Care" and "Already Mine" feat. Nate The Lyricist who as you might have guessed
raps on the track but it's more of a spoken word poetic style 'acceptable'
rap which doesn't intrude too much. The latter two have both already been
released as singles last year and another track "Sycamore" was a single in 2020. Having said all that "Midnight Blues" is playing as we write which is also a 'grower"
If your interested she has a couple of recent covers of classics such as
Anita Baker's Caught Up In The Rapture" and Bobby Caldwell's "What you
Won't Do For Love" on her YouTube channel as well as perhaps the lesser
known George Duke's "Yeah, We Going" (an album only track from "Don't Let
Go" (1978) which featured Josie James on lead vocals) and many
others.
