Sir Spencer feat. Jason Peterson DeLaire [2023] - Love Is Taking Over (Relit) [US Records]

Released on Friday is the latest outing from Sir Spencer. It's an updated version of "Love Is Taking Over" suffixed "Relit", a track from his debut album "The First" (May '21) which features in-demand Minneapolis saxophonist/keyboardist Jason Peterson DeLaire. We'll include the original version for comparison.

Sir Spencer is Craig Sullivan who released his second album, "The Second" no less, in Oct '22. You will recall one of the tracks ("Maybe") featured Raquel Rodriguez which was released as a single with several mixes.

Sir Spencer [2023] - Be About It [US Records]

Following the release of "Maybe (The Maxi-Single?)"  which featured Raquel Rodriguez as their last single in Nov '23, Sir Spencer now chooses another track we highlighted, "Be About It" as one of the standouts when the album "The Second" was posted last October.

The track features Minneapolis based singer Kendra Glenn on lead vocals (who also provided vocals on a single from earlier last year "Control Me") along with Sam Brawner (drums), Nick Campbell (bass), Jamey Arent (guitar) with additional keys, production and mixing from Jason Peterson DeLaire and horn arrangement by Adam Meckler.

Sir Spencer with Raquel Rodriguez [2022] - Maybe (The Maxi-Single?) [US Records]

Following recent UK Soul Chart Top 10 hits "Control Me" and "Turn Us Back Around" and the well-received album "The Second", Sir Spencer is releasing "Maybe (The Maxi Single)" which, in addition to the original album version, has radio edit, a new version and an instrumental, which are in fact the original versions i.e. track 1 is the radio edit of track 2 which is the version that featured on "The Second" album..

The lyric speaks to recognizing that you can often be your own worst critic and how facing up to yourself can put you in a better place.

Initially an incredible uncredited vocal is none other than Raquel Rodriguez who also co-wrote the track with Sir Spencer and Jason Peterson DeLaire and produced by Blue Dream Studios' Sam Brawner (there was a clue in there!) who also provided drum programming and some live bass and keys on all four versions. On the Radio Edit and Album Versions are Nick Campbell (bass), Kyle Barnett (guitar) and Adam Bravo (Rhodes and other keys).

The Original Version and Original Instrumental Versions are just Sir Spencer and Sam Brawner providing all the instrumental parts.

"Maybe (The Maxi Single)" is available on all the usual streaming services from Friday (18 Nov '22).
