Quinn Oulton with Reuben James & Linden Jay [2023] - 100 Degrees [DeepMatter Records]

South London-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist & producer Quinn Oulton releases a new single "100 Degrees" on London independent label DeepMatter Records which includes Reuben James and Linden Jay.

Reuben James should need no introduction and Linden Jay is a London based multi-instrumentalist who featured as a member of The Carpet Shop with Owen Cutts and Phil Simmonds whose first single was "Heaven On Earth" in Aug '21.

Oulton's music spans several genres, including jazz, indie and pop with his first release as a solo artist being a self-produced/released/titled EP in 2017 which earned him a place on the 2018 Red Bull Academy. He followed it in 2020 with "Long Gone" and then "Show Your Face" in 2021.

His May 2022 debut album "Alexithymia", which produced three singles, received national radio support from BBC 6 Music (Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan & Cerys Matthews), BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders & Sian Eleri) and BBC Radio 2 (Jamie Cullum).

Reuben James [2023] - Champagne Kisses [Rufio Records] (Full Album)

We are informed by Reuben James people that "Champagne Kisses" is his debut studio album despite a number of EPs and a live album being previously released.

James released an EP "Adore" in 2019 along with "Tunnel Vision" which we believe is a live recording so this will be his first full studio album. In Dec '22 he also released his first set of solo recordings "Piano Love 1".

The title track "Champagne Kisses" was released on 2 Jun featuring Ric Wilson, CARRTOONS & Joel Culpepper which followed two other tracks from the album,  "Love Stoned" (May '23) and "Means The World" (Apr '23).

The album includes seven new songs. The track most likely to get picked up on, we think, will be "Sun Goes Down" with "Do To Me" being a nice retro sweet soul style ballad and then there's "Satisfaction" which features Roy Ayers. Other featured guest artists are Ric Wilson, Joel Culpepper, Braxton Cook, Gareth Lockrane, Connor Albert, House if El Tom Ford, FONVEILLE, Basil Petite, Vula with CARRTOONS (Ben Carr) appearing on all tracks.

Birmingham based James made his name writing and touring with Sam Smith. He wrote songs for Smith's 4-million-selling album "The Thrill Of It All" and they have performed together around the world including at The Oscars and The Grammys.

He has worked and collaborated with the likes of Stormzy, Sam Smith, Disclosure, Marcus Mumford and Herbie Hancock which has led to James developing a unique sound and style of his own and he is now widely considered as one of the most exciting artists to have emerged from the UK in recent years.

Reuben James Feat. House of EL [2023] - Love Stoned [Rufio Records]

Reuben James follows his last single "Means The World" (from the start of April) with a new single "Love Stoned" which features Northampton's House of EL (aka Kieron McIntosh) who shares vocals with James and plays bass.

It has a retro 70s sweet soul sound whist still retaining a contemporary feel.

Both songs are from his forthcoming album due this summer.
