No Global Soul chart this week so nothing to report on last week's
tips. Another fairly slow week for new releases but a few gems
did materialise, although it wasn't particularly easy choosing my top
twelve so I've actually included a track released and posted last week
to make up the dozen i.e. Jam & Lewis Feat. Mary J. Blige.
As far as the SoulStrutter Selection of the Week goes it was a choice
of three: Rob Hardt, Ferry Ultra, Sharon Phillips "If These Walls Could Speak", which was eliminated because it was actually released nearly a
month ago (even though it wasn't scheduled until 2 Jul and samples
were
posted on 5 Jun); Eric Roberson "Lessons", another scheduled for 4 Jun but wasn't officially released until
Friday (16 Jul), but has been around on YT for over a month and I
first
posted it on 29 May; so that was eliminated, leaving Eugene Cole "Why Are You Holding Back" as the pick of the week. Outsiders were Leela James and
Castella.
