The best track I've heard since the current SoulStrutter Selection of the
Week from
Allana Royale. Eugene Cole (aka Gene-O) teams up with Felton Pilate (Con Funk Shun) for a superb
new soulful single "Why Are You Holding Back".
It is little wonder as he is
from a gospel background and states his influences growing up were
Luther Vandross, Phil Perry (who must be one of my favourite male
artists), Jeffery Osbourne as well as Patti Labelle (who's a bit too 'screechy' for me) and he also states Celine Dion, four out five ain't bad I suppose! (I'm sorry but Dion has never done anything for me).
He recorded his first solo album "What About Forever" in 2007 but it was
never released as the label folded but it gained release in
2013.
I've added a few more tracks as this guys voice should be heard if you're
not already familiar with it. If you go looking for his music then prior
to about 2016 he was known as Gene-o which is listed separately on
DSPs (I've included a row of separate icons below).
