Originally posted on 21 Oct via a promo. It has now been officially released on 29 Oct 2021.

The original version is one of my favourite tunes of the year and was released in July by Eugene Cole featuring Con Funk Shun's Felton Pilate. "Why Are You Holding Back". It has just been remixed by Nigel Lowis. The tempo has been uplifted slightly to give it a bit more dancefloor appeal.

Eugene Cole recorded his first solo album "What About Forever" in 2007 but it was never released  as the label folded but it eventually gained release in 2013.

When the original version was posted I also included a few other tracks he's recorded so you can appreciate the quality of his voice.

The tempo has been uplifted slightly to give it a bit more dancefloor appeal. The single is not 'yet' on any of the DSP's but it's release is imminent so look out for it in the next day or two.

The best track I've heard since the current SoulStrutter Selection of the Week from Allana Royale. Eugene Cole (aka Gene-O) teams up with Felton Pilate (Con Funk Shun) for a superb new soulful single "Why Are You Holding Back". 

It is little wonder as he is from a gospel background and states his influences growing up were Luther Vandross, Phil Perry (who must be one of my favourite male artists), Jeffery Osbourne as well as Patti Labelle (who's a bit too 'screechy' for me) and he also states Celine Dion, four out five ain't bad I suppose! (I'm sorry but Dion has never done anything for me).
