Following the release of two singles from it ("Grace" (15 Aug) and "Put Me On" (earlier this week on 3 Sep)) , the seventh
album, "Saturday Night", from New York multi-instrumentalist/producer Ben Carr aka CARRTOONS is released today (6 Oct).
Carr most recently featured on Miranda Joan's "Bada Bing!" single (8 Sep) and also featured heavily on Reuben James' "Champagne Kisses" album in June.
Classically-trained Carr is from Beacon, NY, and has also
collaborated with Usher, Mac Ayres, Roy Ayers and George Clinton amongst
may others.
He blends neo soul, hip-hop and classic soul amongst the album's 14
tracks. Could "I Choose You" be sampling the Paris 2-step classic? .. and we suspect that our fav,
the instrumental "Sparkle" is possibly sampling something that we can't place.
