A Tom (Tom-Tom 84) Washington composition, "Windy City Theme", released by Carl Davis & The Chi Sound Orchestra on ChiSound in
1976 is the vehicle for a rework by Dave Lee under the auspices of
AC Soul Symphony.
Tom Washington was the main arranger at Brunswick from the late 60s whose
name appears on
many a recording by Chicago's big hitters such as Gene Chandler, Tyrone
Davis, Walter Jackson, Otis Leavill, The Chi-Lites and so many others.
There's an Edit and a full 10:10 version. It's the second track to be
released from an upcoming 15 track album "Metamorphosis" by AC Symphony & Dave Lee due on 27 Oct. The first was "The Philly Avengers" (21 Sep), although a couple of other tracks from it have been
previously released either as singles or as album tracks (e.g. "Manhattan
Skyline"., "Kay-Gee")
