The California Honeydrops [2022] - Nothing at All / Good Times [Self Released]

Another pair of tracks from the forthcoming album "Soft Spot" by The California Honeydrops  which is due on 7 Oct 2022.

A couple of tracks have already been pre-released "Takin' My Time" and "I Miss You Baby Pt. 1" with a double single "Nothing at All / Good Times" released today (8 Sep 2022).

The group were formed in Oakland CA, busking in subways and consists of five core members led by vocalist / multi-instrumentalist Lech Wierzynski (he's originally from Poland if you hadn't guessed) plus two to three more world-class musicians for each show.

To date they have recorded seven studio albums, three live albums, and two cover albums since 2008.

Their style crosses boundaries from roots, R&B, southern soul, Delta blues and New Orleans second line but their latest single is retro sweet soul in tune with Durand Jones & The Indications and others with that blue-eyed retro sweet soul groove such as The Sinseers, Thee Sacred Souls, Stan Taylor and many others emerging from California in particular.

The top side "Nothing At All" is their original song (written by Lech Wierzynski and  drummer Ben Malament) with the second side being incorrectly credited on Spotify as written by Sam Cooke who recorded "Good Times" in 1964 which is a completely different song!

Thanks to Bill Buckley @ SoulAndJazzAndFunk who sent this over last night.
