A health warning ... 'purists' cover your ears or look away now! For the
rest of us who can appreciate a full range of music of black orientation, this is one of the better examples of beats, hip-hop,
jazz-hop, trip-hop call it what you will.
vsteeze (Vanessa Lora) grew up in The Bronx but is now based in Atlanta.
She began writing and recording her jazz laced hip-hop tracks on a
webcam microphone in her last year of college and posted them on
SoundCloud and gained a sizable following prompting her to perform small
gigs in her home city New York.
She met London based artist Funky DL (Naphta Newman from Hackney) who mastered her
first four track EP "The Lilac Pack” which was released March 2021. They have followed it up on 30 Jul
2021 with another four track EP "The Honey Pack".
I think "Jam" is probably the best track, followed by "Daydream", but I'm no 'expert' on this sort of sound! ... but as they say in
Yorkshire ... "I know what I like .. and I like what I know"!
