The last time we came across Moorea Masa & The Mood
was featuring on Swatkins' single "Lost & Alive" in Jan '222. since then she/they have released just one single "Joyful" at the end on June this year.
The second single of the year is "When The Summer Calls" released today. There's a riff in it that sounds familiar from an 80s recording that we can't quite place.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist Moorea Masa (pronounced More-ray-uh Mah-sa) was raised in Portland, OR, born to an Italian immigrant father and black German mother.
She's shared the stage with artists such as K.D. Lang, Allen Stone and others and has headlined tours in Europe and supported Corinne Bailey Rae, Emily King, Lady Wray amongst others.
Moorea was a member of Portland based Ural Thomas & The Pain appearing on BGVs on their debut, self-titled, album in 2016.
The latest single is the title track of her forthcoming third album.
