Rachel Ivy Alex from Tampa, FL, debuted in 2018 with "Waterfalls" and, including her latest single "Dreamin'", has now released a dozen singles and a debut EP "Buddha" in 2021 which, surprisingly ,consists of entirely ambient piano
instrumentals. It transpires that she is a multi-instrumentalist (piano
and flute), composer and producer as well as a singer.
When we came across this we were expecting it to be pop/R&B (from the cover image) and were very
pleasantly surprised by the outcome. A laid back soulful number with hints
of jazz and she has a very rich tone and a voice that belies her
age. This one is the prime candidate at the moment for SoulStrutter Selection of The Week.
