Kathy Kosins is a soul/jazz singer from Detroit who began her career backing
mutant disco band Was (Not Was) (David Was (aka David Weiss) and Don Was (aka Don Fagenson)) possibly
best know for "Tell Me I'm Dreaming" / "Out Come The Freaks", "Spy In
The House Of Love" and their version of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone".
She also supported the very recently departed Michael Henderson on "Wide Receiver", Sweet
Pea Atkinson, Millie Scott, David Peaston and many others. Don Was is now the president of the legendary Blue Note Records since
2012.
Kathy's last single "Let's Rewind" was released in Aug 2022 (from Bob Baldwin's "B Positive" album) ahead of appearances in the UK in October. Prior to that she features with Frank McComb and Najee on "I Gotta Pinch Myself" in Oct 2021.
Her new single will be "Won't Look Away" which is due to hit the digital platforms on Monday (20 Mar
'23). It's classy mid-temp soulful jazz song which Kathy delivers with perfection.
