Gilles Peterson and Jean Paul 'Bluey' Maunick’s
STR4TA project release a sophomore album "STR4TASFEAR"
which follows "Aspects" (Mar 2021) both on Peterson's Brownswood Recordings transporting those of
a certain age back to the late 70s/early 80s Brit Jazz/Funk scene.
We've had four tracks already released a singles in the shape of "Turn Me Around", "When You Call Me", "Night Flight" and "Lazy Days" feat. Emma-Jean Thackray.
There are several guest artist appearing on the album,
Omar on "Why Must You Fly", Floridian trumpeter/vocalist Theo Coker pops up ion two
tracks "To Be As One" and "Soothsayer", Brighton duo Anushka on "(Bring On The)
Bad Weather" (released on their second album "Yemaya" in Jun '21 and also as a four track single with remixes in Jan '22 but I think the version on this album is another new mix) and Jazz FM Album of the Year winner
Emma-Jean Thackray on "Lazy Days" and Valerie Etienne on "Find Your Heaven".
On keys/piano is Peter Hinds (Atmosfear, Light of The World,
Incognito).
Released on digital, CD & 12" LP formats with a special edition white
12" LP. Oddly, the CD is cheaper than digital on Amazon but all prices are cheaper via Bandcamp and the artists gets to retain more, so buy from there!
