A feature on the Cygnet label was posted a couple of years ago and this
recording by Earl White Jr. along with the first, and only
other, release on the Bossier City, LA, label by Rochelle Rabouin,
both originally released in 1977.
Discogs lists another single by him on Chicago's Duo label from around
1968 but I'd be surprised if it was the same artist.
"Very Special Girl" is highly regarded in modern soul circles and, with the advent of
Sunday soul connoisseurs sessions, the official A side "Never Fall In Love Again" is picking up attention, and rightly so.
Soul Brother reissued both sides on 7" in 2020 (and they must have been
available digitally as they are available for streaming on Spotify) and
now Federal Green have reissued them digitally on 13 Jun 2022. Available
