Earl White Jr. [2022] - Never Fall In Love Again​ / ​Very Special Girl [Federal Green #FG-011]

A feature on the Cygnet label was posted a couple of years ago and this recording by Earl White Jr. along with the first, and only other, release on the Bossier City, LA, label by Rochelle Rabouin, both originally released in 1977. 

Discogs lists another single by him on Chicago's Duo label from around 1968 but I'd be surprised if it was the same artist.

"​Very Special Girl" is highly regarded in modern soul circles and, with the advent of Sunday soul connoisseurs sessions, the official A side "Never Fall In Love Again"​ is picking up attention, and rightly so.

Soul Brother reissued both sides on 7" in 2020 (and they must have been available digitally as they are available for streaming on Spotify) and now Federal Green have reissued them digitally on 13 Jun 2022. Available from Bandcamp.

A one-off 45 for artist and only 2 listed for the Bossier City, Louisiana label. This is a modern soul classic from 1977. The value of this seems to have soared from a few hundred to 4 figures.

Earl White [2016] - One In A Million You [Love in Las Vegas]

Whilst digging around I came across this video of 'an' Earl White singing the Sam Dees song 'One In A Million You' (which was a 1980 hit for Larry Graham (Graham Central Station)) in Las Vegas in 2016.  I 'wonder' if it's the same Earl White, 40 years after he recorded the 45 on Cygnet?

The first release on the Cygnet label and reissued in 2019 on Discs For Fun and Love (UK).  This side is modern soul bordering on disco.
