Taylor Narain (Taylor Barbour) is originally from St. Louis, MS, but grew up in
Knoxville,TN. She's been releasing music since 2017 and in that time has a
full album "88" (2019), two EPs and a dozen singles under her belt.
Her latest EP "FREEFORM" (10 May 2022) consists of six tracks and when you see the list of
artists she has been inspired by (Amel Larrieux, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Bjork, Tears For Fears, RZA, Mos
Def, TLC, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez, SWV.) then you will immediately hear the
influences. For me, it's early Erykah Badu that comes through as it's very
jazz flava'd neo soul.
The track 'most likely' is "Happy Feet", which has already had an airing as a
Global Soul Chart breaker
last week, and perhaps "Simple Things/Out My Mind".
