Yesterday I posted a few new classic modern soul vinyl reissues from
Ralph Tee's Expansion label. Another, which must be hot off the press as
it's not even listed on his
website, is a double sider from legendary Chuck Jackson with two of
his in-demand 80s gems. Both are taken from his 1980 EMI America album "I Wanna Give You Some Love".
The top side is a cover of Bob Marley's classic "Waiting In Vain" which did get a 7" release which now commands a price of up to £225 on
original vinyl. The other side "No Tricks", written by Leon Ware an Zane Grey (Grey & Hanks), appears on 7"
vinyl for the first time.
Whilst hunting for sound clips to post I came across another version he
did with Cissy Houston on a Shanachie album "I'll Take Care Of You" in 1992.
I have just noticed that it is due on 22 Apr 2022.
Other new releases from Expansion include:
EXS026 - Thelma Houston - Nothing Left To Give / Baby Mine
EXS027 - Brief Encounter - What About Love / Got A Good Feeling
EXS028 - Corey Blake - How Can I Go On Without / Your Love Is Like A Boomerang
EXS029 - Chuck Jackson - Waiting In Vain / No Tricks
EXS030 - Freda Payne - Tell Me Please / I Get High (On Your Memory)
EXS031 - Family Brown - Never Had A Love / Listen
