Another relative newcomer is Jynn Cole who released her sophomore single
yesterday (17 Sep 2021) called "Honey Fall".
Her first was "Boots" a cover on Nancy Sinatra
1966 song "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" (a strange choice for a debut!) released in June. It just goes to show that you can't trust the credits on Spotify as the writer's credits for it have been given to Jynn Cole when in fact Lee Hazelwood wrote the song!
The Happy Cats recorded an instrumental version of 'Boots' which got plays on the Northern Soul scene. It was played by Richard Searling at Wigan Casino I 'believe', if memory serves correctly, but it sounds more like a Russ Winstanley kind of tune, but I think I'm correct as it also got released on John Anderson's Grapevine label in 1978 and John used to feed Richard new tunes to play. Unbelievably an original on Omack now sells around the £100 mark!
This is one of the better tunes I've heard to come out this
weekend.
