Five new entries this week, all of which have already been
posted. D.Folks is rooted in second place with
Leela James retaining the top spot for the second week.
All last weeks eight new entries have climbed the chart with all, except
Elijah Blake, taking or retaining a place in the top 10 with
Samm Henshaw edging nearer to the top at #3 ... could he make
it?
Quite a poor week for new releases until Friday. A few to watch out for
are the new releases from Will Downing, Victor Haynes and Kim Tavar which will all (predictably) receive heavy rotation.
It would be nice to see some more soulful tunes, from less well known names, get an airing such as Cherise, Anthony Lofties, Lady Blackbird, Char Elizabeth, Josh Berkeley, Rita Ray as so many good soulful tunes recently haven't made the cut e.g. Penzillathegreat, Eugene Cole, Alanna Royale, Eric Roberson, Izo FitzRoy etc. and what about several cuts from GarciaWalker&Durrell album "Now That You're Gone" is a stunner! ... look "outside the box"! How the highest climber, Don-E, can be #4 (very average IMO) and GWD is #1 on Starpoint and is yet to get a look in is beyond comprehension to me as there's not a bad track on the whole album ... a bit of London (DJ) bias creeping in? ... just my opinion!
Losers:
Tygressa, Regi Myrix Feat. NexXxUP, Hil St. Soul & Noel Gourdin, The Realm, Akosia
Highest Risers:
Don-E (+12), Kevin Ross (+9), Elijah Blake Feat. Trinidad
James (+6)
Biggest Fallers:
Ms. Kriss (-14), Portrait (-14), Jewell Booker (-12)
NB The 'Essential 5' and 'The Breakers' are listed in a separate post.
The album/EP tracks shown are the ones played on the Global Soul Chart
show.
