A few weeks ago I posted a pre-released single form this album
featuring Mariah Carey and also one from The Sounds Of Blackness. The
full album is released today (9 Jul 2021),
It is Jimmy 'Jam' Harris & Terry Lewis's debut album which
has been 35 years in the making.
All tracks feature guest artists including Sounds Of Blackness, Mariah
Carey, Babyface, Mary J. Blige, Tony Braxton, Heather Headley, Charlie
Wilson, Boyz II Men,, Usher, Jerome, Morris Day & The Roots.
Don't expect anything new and exciting from the album as the tracks stick to the same tried and tested formula and is predominantly MOR/soul
ballads. The only ones that sparked any interest for me were "Maybe I've
Changed (Or Did You)" (feat. Heather Headley, "Do What I Do" (feat.
Charlie Wilson) and Spinnin' (feat. Mary J. Blige).
After all the hype surrounding the release of this album I'm left somewhat underwhelmed, but then perhaps my expectations were too high considering the repertoire of the artists on show!
