I skipped on this track when I first heard a sample of it as I
dismissed it as a rap track as it was by Chicago rapper Common, but listening to it again 'properly', "Imagine" samples Rene & Angela's "Imaginary Playmates" a single from 1981 which appeared on their "Wall To Wall"
        album.
L.A. based, Greensboro, NC born, singer PJ's (Paris Jones) vocals salvage it from being just purely a rap
      track.
Common (aka Lonnie Rashid Lynn) is a rapper from Chicago who first
arrived on the scene with an album "Can I Borrow A Dollar?" in 1992 He has
gone on to release almost twenty albums, including collaborations, three of
which have gone gold and his 2007 album "Finding Forever" was a #1 on
      Billboard.
